  • Active Military Questions

    Active military who received orders may choose to either defer their entry to the following year’s race or receive a refund. Email your request with a copy of your orders to no later than 7 days prior to event day.

  • Am I allowed to bring my own water bottle?

    Yes. Each aid station will have fresh water to refill your bottle

  • Can I bring my iPod or MP3 player?

    While we strongly discourage the use of these devices during a competitive event, we understand that many of you train with them. With this in mind, YES, you can utilize these during the race. However, for your safety, please adjust your volume so that you are aware of your surroundings at all times.

  • Can I switch from the 10K to Half Marathon?

    As long as there is space available, you can race up. You will need to pay the event difference between the fee you paid the current Half Marathon fee. This will need to be done prior to the event either online or in person at the Health & Fitness Expo. Failure to notify Race Officials will result in disqualification from awards.

  • Can I switch from the Half Marathon to the 10K?

    As long as there is space available, you can race down. You will need to notify race officials at the Solutions Desk at the Expo or online prior to the event. Failure to notify Race Officials will result in disqualification from awards.

  • Can I transfer my Bib or receive a refund?

    For information regarding bib transfers please email All entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE with the following exceptions ONLY:

    Active duty military members who are unable to participate because they are unexpectedly deployed may choose to either defer their entry to the following year's race or receive a refund. Email your request with a copy of your orders to no later than 10 days prior to event day.

  • Can we bring a baby jogger, wheelchair or other vehicle onto the course?

    Only Authorized bicycles, motorized vehicles, wheelchairs and strollers are permitted on the course. We will corral start all stroller participants in the back of the field. As the race grows this policy may change for safety reasons, but with a limited field, we feel that this is the best possible solution.

  • Do you allow elite runners?

    If you are an elite runner, please email us at Please submit your name, contact information, last three race times, event names and any additional information that will help to make our decision.

  • How can I Register?

    Go to the Trenton Half Marathon website and click on the Register Now button. It’s that easy.

    There is NO race day registration. If the race you want to run is still open you will be able to register at the Expo on Thursday or Friday.

  • How many runners?

    There are currently no caps on the number of runners. However, caps may be implemented at the sole discretion of the race organizers.

  • If I’m not running the Half Marathon, 10K or 5K can I attend the Finish Festival?

    Yes, friends and family of runners, plus local residents and tourists alike are encouraged to join the festivities on race day.

    The Health & Fitness Expo is also free and open to the public.

  • Is the Course flat or hilly?

    While Trenton is primarily flat, there are some inclines on the course. In the first 200 yards, you will enter a highway exit ramp. This climb is roughly 19 feet over 150 yards. You will find that is the case in several areas. There are a few ups and downs, but not many “hills."

    In all, the course starts at 22 feet above sea level and rises to 133 feet above sea level at its peak. This is not a large incline.

  • Is the event Walker Friendly?

    Yes, the half marathon has a time limit of 3.5 hours (approximately a 16 minute mile pace). If you’re not on pace to finish within the time limit at the halfway point, you will have to be picked up by a sweep vehicle. The 10K has a time limit of 2 hour (approximately a 20 minute mile pace). The 5K is also a 20 minute per mile pace minimum.

  • What can kids do during the race?

    There will be a number of activities for children on race day. The Kids Run is for ages 12 and under and will begin at 11AM.

  • What is the 10K Course?

    The route for the 10K is similar to the Half Marathon, with the exception of turning right when you exit the Calhoun Street Bridge.For more details, visit the 10K Course.

  • What is the Half Marathon Course?

    The route for the half marathon begins outside of Mercer County Waterfront Park, traverses Route 29 and parts of the Capitol district, crosses the World Famous Trenton Makes World Takes Bridge into Pennsylvania. From there you run through historic Morrisville then back into New Jersey via the Calhoun Street Bridge. At this point 10Kers head back toward the stadium while Half Marathoners head to Caldwalader Park. After circling the park you make your way to the Capital and Historic districts before arriving at Mercer County Waterfront Park, home of the Trenton Thunder. As you enter the right field gates, you will circle the outfield warning track and make your way to the third base line, and then you make your way to home plate/finish line!   • Where can spectators watch the race?

    You can watch runners all along the route. In fact, we encourage residents to simply come out of their houses and cheer the runners on. Make signs, make noise!

  • Where do I get my Race Packet/Information?


    Your race packet will include your race number, timing chip, safety pins and any final instructions for race day. We will be implementing the latest timing chip technology, or “B-tag”, that will be pre-attached to your race number (bib).

    You can pick up your race packet in one of 3 ways:

    1. Attend one of our Packet Pick-up nights

    2. Get it Mailed Home

    3. Race Morning

    Race packets can be picked up at the Arm & Hammer Park on Thursday, Oct. 26 (12pm to 6pm) and Friday, Oct. 27 (12pm to 6pm). The Park is located at 1 Thunder Rd, Trenton, NJ 08611

    Get it Mailed Home

    Participants can also sign up for the mail home option for an additional fee. To purchase this option, please select the "Purchase Additional Items" tab under the Runners' dropdown menu. This must be completed before October 14, 2017. All packets will be mailed out a week from the event.

    Race Morning

    Race Day Packet Pick Up will be open at the Trenton Thunder Will Call Window from 6:00AM until 7:30AM. This option will be limited this year on a first-come-first-serve basis. To purchase this option, please select the "Purchase Additional Items" tab under the Runners' dropdown menu.

    Other Details

    Be prepared to show your photo ID to claim your race packet. We cannot release your bib without a valid photo ID.

    Race numbers are non-transferable* and irreplaceable if lost, and entry fees are nonrefundable* (see below for only exceptions).

    If you cannot pick up your race packet, you may have a friend or family member pick it up for you (they will need to present a copy of your photo ID). You will need to fill out the waiver ahead of time and have your friend/family member bring it with them when they pick up your packet. You can download the waiver below.

    B-Tag Note and Instructions: B-tag timing chips are disposable, embedded in your bib, and do not need to be returned after the race. Also, unlike “D-tags”, “B-tags” will not need to be separated from your race number for any reason. Your timing chip is activated once you cross the starting line.

  • Where do I park?

    Parking will be available in surface lots throughout the Downtown Trenton area, and on city streets in legally marked spaces. Please see the Directions/Parking page.
